# USW extends expiring labor negotiations by 30 days

*The United Steelworkers (USW) union along with United States Steel Corp. and Cleveland-Cliffs, are extending by 30 days efforts to reach new labor contract agreements. Therefore, workers will continue working under terms of the existing Contract.* 

*The existing labor contract between the USW and Cleveland-Cliffs is due to expire at 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1.*

*In updates to members, the USW said it remains far apart with both U.S. Steel and Cleveland-Cliffs on the union’s top issues, healthcare, safety, pensions, and wages.* 

*The labor contract negotiations between the USW, Cleveland-Cliffs and U.S. Steel cover tens of thousand of USW members across the country.*
