August PPI by the numbers

August producer priced finished goods increased 6.6% Y0Y. August price index for intermediate processed goods increased 11.5% YoY. August price index for unprocessed goods increased 12.8% Y0Y.

Tuesday Sept 14th Diesel fuel cost is now $6.27 a gallon. Average shipping cost have increased 16% Y0Y.

Unlike the post-Covid supply disrupted scarcity, today's market is more affected by increased cost, ranging from raw materials to energy cost, to diesel cost to labor cost to rising healthcare cost.
