USW extends expiring labor negotiations by 30 days
The United Steelworkers (USW) union along with United States Steel Corp. and Cleveland-Cliffs, are extending by 30 days efforts to reach new labor contract agreements. Therefore, workers will continue working under terms of the existing Contract.
The existing labor contract between the USW and Cleveland-Cliffs is due to expire at 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1.
In updates to members, the USW said it remains far apart with both U.S. Steel and Cleveland-Cliffs on the union’s top issues, healthcare, safety, pensions, and wages.
